Rachel is a master’s student in Northwestern University’s Speech, Language, and Learning program. She graduated from Colgate University in 2019 where she majored in behavioral neuroscience and minored in sociology. Rachel worked for two years as a full-time research study assistant at the Early Intervention Research Group. Here, she performed a variety of roles and responsibilities from behaviorally coding caregiver-child interaction videos to conducting virtual assessments with families. Working with families and alongside clinician scientists a research assistant led Rachel to pursue her master’s degree. She aspires to be a clinician whose work in the field informs clinical practice, and a researcher whose work in the lab informs clinical practice. Rachel’s primary research interests include multi-modal communication development, caregiver-child interactions, and including siblings in therapy. Rachel is excited to continue working with the EIRG as she completes her master’s degree.
