Bailey is a PhD student in the Early Intervention Research Group. She is a certified speech-language pathologist and Early Intervention Specialist in Illinois with over 5 years of experience working with children and families. After receiving her B.S. and M.A. in speech and hearing science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, she delivered speech and language services in a variety of settings including early intervention, early childhood, and outpatient pediatrics. These experiences led her to an interest in research that influences best practice with young children, including parent-implemented intervention. The long-term goal of her research is to improve early language intervention for children and families and increase the implementation of such interventions in real-world settings. Her current work is focused on understanding the unique factors that parents bring to parent-implemented interventions. She wants to learn how to best teach parents to use language strategies with their children, how to measure parent outcomes, and how to increase clinician implementation of parent coaching in the field. In her free time, she loves to explore with her husband and two rescue dogs, Millie and Elsie.
