Developmental Language Disorders (DLD) Awareness Day!
Today is DLD Awareness Day, and we support the campaign to bring awareness to this invisible disorder.
Developmental Language Disorder is an underdiagnosed and undertreated problem, largely because the public doesn’t know about it. DLD has also been called Specific Language Impairment or Expressive/Receptive Communication Delay. There is a push to adopt the term DLD so that we can use consistent terminology internationally and improve awareness and increase our ability to advocate for support for these individuals with speech, language, and communication needs.
Take a moment to educate yourself on DLD or share the information with a friend.
